Formica Group challenged us to make a splash at the annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas with an engaging booth that would attract dealers and support the Formica renaissance. Based on the booth’s popularity, Formica asked us to design a new exhibit for the following year’s KBIS.
For each event, our primary goal was to highlight Formica’s new products in dynamic exhibit spaces that embodied the latest trends in interior design. Our designers created open, flexible exhibit layouts that accommodated the booths' varying uses, from celebrity product launches to one-on-one sales meetings.
To attract attention across the bustling show floor, we designed two-storey tall branded beacons in unmistakeable 'Formica red'. At ground level, both exhibits included an interactive mosaic of product samples to encourage hands-on exploration. We also designed model home rooms that featured unexpected uses of Formica products that stopped conventioneers in their tracks.
Both years’ designs were inspired by mid-century modern homes, and each year’s exhibit was designed for easy assembly, storage, and re-use. This allows Formica to add new elements to their trade show booth each year while leveraging elements from past exhibits.
The result was a landmark, buzz-worthy presence for Formica at KBIS for two years running. Forge’s exhibits helped to associate Formica with high-end design, while giving staff a perfect stage to sell Formica’s new products.
