Capturing a historic hotel’s eclectic personality
The Gladstone Hotel UX/UI Design | Website DevelopmentThe Gladstone Hotel, a boutique hotel destination located on Queen Street West in Toronto, was looking to refresh their digital presence for both the surrounding community and their visitors. Offering more than just a place to stay, the Gladstone is an inclusive community hub for creatives and travellers who share a passion for arts, culture and inspiration.

Toronto’s most-loved boutique art hotel.

Capturing the hotel’s eclectic personality, the refreshed website experience greets visitors with a vibrant colour palette, cascading animated patterns and striking visuals. While adhering to a clear visual hierarchy, the website allows visitors to easily access the information they’re looking for, ensuring they are never more than a click away from booking a room or event.

A GATHERING PLACE FOR LOCALS AND TRAVELLERS
The previous Gladstone Hotel site had started to show its age; pages were slow to load, the back-end was difficult to manage, making it a challenge for the marketing team to showcase the hotel’s diverse offerings. Forge developed a brand new site using WordPress, with an easy-to-use back-end and a dynamic custom theme. Content was built using modular blocks, allowing for endless page layouts to suit the needs of the hotel and its clientele.

To create a cohesive connection between their digital and physical guest experience, the Gladstone team challenged Forge to craft an engaging and seamless guest experience from browsing the hotel’s offerings to booking a room. With over 37 artist-designed rooms ready to be explored, an extensive overview page was designed, complete with imagery and descriptions.
With this refreshed web experience, visitors can easily understand the hotel’s offerings for booking a night away, a dinner out or event.
